it's not really a matter of "it just looks bad" like some gembonds or mixing circuit with tiger or clown - it literally is not even iridescent. an iridescent gene that fails to make the dragon iridescent, even ugly iridescent, seems like a major art problem to me.

merely being coated in a thin layer of clear slime is not iridescence at all.

"iridescent" just means it's shiny with different colors from different angles. Creative freedom and all that. If we had a gene that made every dragon look like a compact disc that'd be one thing, but the iri gene is primarily a shading difference in the context of FR.

I think some gene/color combos are hideous but it's a taste thing, not a major art problem thing. For the sake of people who have spent USD on iri genes for their dragons, I hope the colors aren't changed.

iridescent is basically just the equivalent of shimmer for primaries. I don't think they meant it to be literally iridescent, just multicolored and shiny, which there's not really a good synonym for.
