There would be a lot more player-to-player turnover, which I think would be a wonderful thing. Right now the only in-game mechanism to match up buyers and sellers of specific colors is the Wanted forums, which really don't work well because most people don't specify in the subject line.

Color search would make it a lot easier and more accurate to price your babies -- you could see if anybody's buying blue Guardians, and at what price.

It would mean that it's a lot harder to sell your almost-right colored dragons, because people could see that better matches were available.
