imps were a kickstarter prize, so they have a rarity of "special", while wildclaws are the only breed that has a rarity of, well, "rare". despite the actual availability this means that the game considers wildclaws to be technically rarer than imps, so breeding the two means that you have a much higher chance of imp hatchlings than if you bred it with anything else (except another imp, of course, but breeding two different species together gives you a chance of a 5-egg nest so many people try for that).
