what makes you think they're butthurt? why would they care when they don't even know what sort of dragons are being bred? sounds more like they're just someone who thinks reserves are stupid and wants to make sure everyone knows it.

No matter what dragon, it'd drive prices down a bit further if it's on the AH. So. Yeah.

Yeah, I'm not butthurt, trust me, I have all the dragons I want and could afford anyone I wanted if I was looking.

But I do think reserves are stupid, same with raffles for dragons that haven't even bred yet.

Not to mention that reserves usually go for less than you'd get for the dragon on the AH. So you're making people pay you for a dragon that doesn't exist yet, plus making less money on those dragons than you would just selling them on the AH.

That's fairer than the reserves that go for the same amount someone would pay for the dragon on the AH, honestly. You're losing a bit of profit, but the trade-off's getting the money now, not three months from now.

I think you don't understand the point of reserves? The entire reason I'd ever expect people to be willing to wait for a dragon that hasn't been bred yet is if I'm offering them cheaper than people would otherwise be able to get them for. As the anon above me said, the trade-off is that you get a largish chunk of money from the reserves right now and all at once, rather than having to wait.

That's only really necessary if you're on a time limit for something, of course, or if you're using your reserve funds to actually breed change/gene up the dragons you're putting up reserves for. But hell, if someone can afford Skydancer scrolls in the first place by putting up 90k Skydancer reserves for a non-breed-changed pair, that's actually a pretty smart tactic on their end; the people reserving would be guaranteed a Skydancer for cheaper than they're going in the AH, so even with the wait time some people would see that as a damn good deal.
